Nefro Avillion: through a merger, an honest view of people.

A life sciences business formed when Nefro Health bought Avillion Life Sciences. Its leadership team ran Tensense through the integration, and saw what their people were experiencing in time to act.

01

The situation

Two organisations becoming one.

As the two businesses combined, the leadership team saw that much of the deal’s value rested on its people. The uncertainty and anxiety of a merger can cost it the talent and momentum it needs.

They ran Tensense through the integration, 11 cycles in all, with results broken down by team, department and manager.

02

What the results showed

  • Anxiety remained high.

Common in a merger. When stress persists rather than passes, it raises the risk of burnout, quiet quitting and losing key people.

  • Clarity was weak.

A sign that people were not yet communicating effectively across the newly merged organisation. That risks mixed messages, duplicated effort and slower decisions, just as the combined business needs to pull together.

  • Success lagged behind Adaptability.

People were adapting well, but didn’t yet feel the merger was delivering. When effort doesn’t visibly pay off, it’s harder to sustain, and momentum can fade.

What Tensense gave them

Early signals, while issues were still contained.

Each cycle showed leaders what had changed since the last. When momentum and the sense of Success began to decline, they could act before the decline gathered pace.

In their words

Straight from the source.

From the former Chief Executive

“Tensense gave me an honest, continuous read on how our combined workforce was really feeling, showed us exactly where confidence was slipping, and let us act while issues were still small. It has been one of the most valuable instruments we have had for protecting the value of the merger, and for looking after our people as we became one company.”
